Writing Learning Ideas

Some children have been turned off writing.  You can re-awaken their interest by trying some of the following ideas.

Don't stress about handwriting and spelling.  Those things will come.  Encourage the ideas!!

Use technology to your advantage.
(Check out the Literacy Websites on the Home Page for more...)

Make it short and snappy.  Give children a chance to write something real that doesn't take too long.

Send postcards, written by your child, to their friends or whānau and encourage them to write back.

If your child loves facts and information, use this!  Make a cube mobile with a different fact about a topic on each face.
